Materials

Ethical manufacturing begins with the raw materials. That's why we use only high-quality, trusted tanneries and manufacturers for our leather and structural components.

World-Class Uppers

Our exterior leathers are selected for their depth of color and ability to develop a storied patina. We source from a curated group of global masters:

Horween Leather Company (USA): A Chicago tannery that produces the legendary Chromexcel®. Their variety and quality have made them the nation's leader in footwear leathers.

Gallun Leathers (USA): A heritage tannery in Wisconsin renowned for their meticulous, drum-dyed finishing, which yields a supple hand and dress-grade durability.

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. (USA): Owned by Red Wing and based in Minnesota, they offer beautiful, heavy-duty, oil-tanned leathers designed to withstand the harshest elements.

Seidel Tanning Corp. (USA): A historic Milwaukee-based tannery known for its rugged, high-performance leathers. Their expertise in heavy-duty hides and specialized finishes has made them a primary supplier for premium work boots, gloves, and the U.S. military.

C.F. Stead Sheepscar Tannery (UK): Based in Leeds, this fame tannery produces the world's finest suedes and rugged "waxed flesh" leathers.

Premium Linings

While the exterior faces the elements, the interior must provide a second-skin feel. We use natural linings for breathability and moisture-wicking:

Water-Resistant Sheepskin: Incredibly soft and naturally temperature regulating. It provides a plush feel that stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Genuine Buckskin: A traditional choice, buckskin offers a velvet-soft touch with resilience and a unique texture that grips the foot comfortably.

Vegetable-Tanned Cowhide: Long lasting, soft and quick to patina, this leather allows your foot to breathe and dries fast, allowing your boots to stay fresh and be worn more often.

Structural Leather

A boot’s longevity is hidden beneath the surface. For the midsoles, counters, and lasting boards we use high-density leathers that mold to your unique foot shape:

Hermann Oak Leather Co. (USA): For our counters and lasting boards, we use this heritage Missouri-based tannery for their traditional North American vegetable-tanned leather, providing the reliably firm foundation.

Wickett & Craig (USA): Masters of eco-friendly vegetable tanning, this Pennsylvania-based tannery offers firm, beautifully structured leathers and the only domestically made midsoling leather.

Durable Outsoles

The "business end" of our footwear feature outsoles from two of the most respected names in the industry:

Vibram (Italy): The gold standard in performance rubber since 1937. Vibram soles are engineered for specific environments, from the rugged V100 Lug to the comfortable Christy Wedge.

Dr. Sole Originals (Taiwan): For the enthusiast who values vintage soul. Dr. Sole specializes in recreating historical sole patterns with modern, high-durability compounds.
