Care
High-quality footwear is an investment in longevity. Because our bootmaking began as cobbling, our designs are overbuilt to avoid the most common issues with long-term wear. For this reason, we like to think our work doesn't wear out, it wears in.

Patina
At its core, patina is the unique story of your footwear told by wear, tear, and care.
- Compression: During the break-in period, the insole and cork filler compress to create a permanent anatomical map of the foot.
- Oil Migration (Pull-up): In high-flex areas like the vamp, internal oils and waxes migrate within the leather's fibers, creating lighter tones and highlights.
- Atmosphere: Exposure to sunlight and oxygen naturally darkens the base tannin of vegetable-tanned hides, deepening the color over time.
- Environment: Abrasions and water build a unique surface texture.
No two patinas are the same. Your footwear will look different than any other pair based on how you walk, where you live, and how you care for them.
